Authenticated SQL injection via unsanitized sort parameter
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
SQL injection in xxyopen Novel 3.4.0 through 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries via the sort parameter. The books-search endpoint accepts attacker-controlled sort text and incorporates it into database query ordering without neutralizing SQL syntax. Low-privileged authentication is required; successful injection permits database reads or changes and can interrupt queries, while no cross-system impact is reported.
