Local code execution via path traversal
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Dec 9, 2025
Path traversal in HP System Event Utility before 3.2.12 and OMEN Gaming Hub before 1101.2511.101.0 allows local users to execute files. The applications execute a file whose resolved path escapes an intended restricted directory, but HP has not identified the affected component or exact path-validation error. Local low-privilege access is required, and the published impact is execution of certain files outside their restricted paths.
