Unauthenticated API access via URI substring bypass
Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025
Authentication bypass in ChurchCRM 5.18.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to access protected API endpoints without credentials. AuthMiddleware exempts any request whose full URI contains api/public, so a query parameter can misclassify a protected route as public. A crafted bypass=api/public query on /api/persons/latest returns the full API payload instead of a 401 response.
