Spreadsheet formula execution via unsanitized CSV fields
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
CSV formula injection in B&R Automation Runtime before 6.4 allows remote attackers to embed formulas in SDM-generated CSV files. SDM places hyperlink-controlled input into CSV fields without neutralizing spreadsheet formula elements. Exploitation requires network access to an SDM-enabled node, a user to follow a malicious link, and the resulting CSV to be opened manually, enabling formula execution in the spreadsheet user's security context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
