Host command execution via nested command substitution

OS command injection in Desktop Commander MCP 0.2.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary host commands. CommandManager validates only the outer command token and does not recursively inspect shell substitutions such as $() or backticks against the blocklist. Access through an MCP client is required, and injected commands execute with the operating-system privileges of the account running the server.
