Unauthenticated command execution via HNAP SOAPAction injection
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Command injection in D-Link DIR-852 firmware version 20251002 allows remote attackers to execute commands through the HNAP1 endpoint. The HNAP1 request handler fails to neutralize shell syntax in attacker-controlled SOAPAction data before command processing. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands on an end-of-life router.
