Stored XSS via unencoded user names
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Student Grades Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via user names. The add_user logic in admin.php stores first_name and last_name POST values in the users table without sanitization, and user-list views render them without output encoding. Administrator access is required to inject a payload, and another administrator must view the Manage Users table or Recent Users dashboard for browser-context execution.
