Integer overflow in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt 12.2.1204.97 allows remote attackers to execute code by opening a crafted XE file. The XE file parser fails to validate user-supplied size data, allowing an integer overflow before buffer allocation. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs with the privileges of the current process.
