Unauthenticated administrator access via unrestricted registration roles
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Privilege escalation in EasyCommerce 0.9.0-beta2 through 1.8.2 allows remote attackers to obtain WordPress administrator access. The /easycommerce/v1/orders REST route accepts a registration-supplied role without restricting it to a customer-level role. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted order-registration request creates an administrator account and grants site control.
