Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Projectworlds Advanced Library Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The image handler in edit_book.php accepts attacker-controlled filenames and contents without type validation, then writes the file into the web-accessible upload directory. Access to the book-edit function is required; requesting the uploaded PHP file causes the web server to execute it with the application's privileges.
