Router crash via unchecked stored version string
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC15 15.03.05.18 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router through crafted HTTP requests. The setNotUpgrade handler stores an unbounded newVersion value when action is 1, and GetRouterStatus later copies it into a fixed-size stack buffer. Low-privilege web-interface access is required; successful corruption crashes the router and enables code execution if mitigations are absent or bypassed.
