Authenticated router crash via unchecked password retrieval
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC15 15.03.05.18 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a PPPoE password. The fast_setting_pppoe_set handler stores the unbounded password through SetValue, and fast_setting_get later copies it into fixed-size stack buffer s through GetValue. Router-interface access is required; retrieval of the stored value triggers the overflow, causing a crash and creating a code-execution path.
