Contributor configuration read and write via missing capability
Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Oct 18, 2025
Missing authorization in ShortPixel Image Optimizer 6.3.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to import or export site options. The shortpixel_ajaxRequest action routes settings/importexport requests after validating a Contributor-accessible nonce but never checks an administrative capability before accepting arbitrary import JSON or returning serialized configuration. Contributor-level access is sufficient to alter global CDN settings or disclose stored integration tokens, and malicious CDN settings can inject front-end scripts.
