Authenticated code execution via extension-unchecked image upload
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Code Projects Online Hotel Reservation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The image handler in /admin/addexec.php checks the uploaded file header but not its filename extension, then stores an attacker-named .php file in the web-accessible images directory. Low-privilege access is the CNA-scored gate; a crafted image upload can install a PHP web shell that executes in the web server context.
