Authenticated code execution via unbounded DDNS value
Published Oct 6, 2025 · Updated Oct 6, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 15.03.05.19(6318) allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted ddnsEn value. The SetDDNSCfg handler passes the unbounded POST value through SetValue into adv.ddns1.en, and GetRouterStatus retrieves it through GetValue into the fixed-size v39 stack variable. Low-privileged management access is required; successful exploitation permits arbitrary code execution and can fully compromise or interrupt the router.
