Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked configuration value
Published Oct 6, 2025 · Updated Oct 6, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 15.03.05.19(6318) allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via newVersion. The setNotUpgrade handler stores the POST value in not.notice.version, and GetRouterStatus copies it into the stack variable s without a length bound. A valid management session and action=1 reach the path; the published proof of concept demonstrates the oversized write, not code execution.
