Authenticated API data exposure via arbitrary-origin CORS
Published Oct 5, 2025 · Updated Oct 5, 2025
CORS misconfiguration in the Mentor LMS API 1.1.0 through 1.1.1 allows remote attackers to read authenticated API data via a malicious site. The server accepts arbitrary Origin values and permits credentialed cross-origin requests across its routes, causing a victim's browser to send session cookies and expose responses. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to visit an attacker-controlled page; exposed responses include sensitive administrative settings.
