Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked username concatenation
Published Oct 5, 2025 · Updated Oct 5, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Belkin F9K1015 1.00.10 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted PPTP username. The formPPTPSetup function passes the POST-supplied pptpUserName value to strcat without checking its length, overflowing the _script_document_1 stack buffer. Access to the device's PPTP setup handler is required; public evidence demonstrates the overflow but does not establish code execution.
