Memory corruption via unchecked PPP username concatenation
Published Oct 5, 2025 · Updated Oct 5, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Belkin F9K1015 1.00.10 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted PPP username. The formPPPoESetup handler passes the POST pppUserName value to strcat without a length check, overflowing the _script_document_1 stack buffer. Access to the device management interface is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates the overflow trigger but not arbitrary code execution.
