Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unsanitized testimonial fields
Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025
Arbitrary shortcode execution in WPChill Strong Testimonials 3.2.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to run shortcodes via testimonial submissions. The plugin passes submitter-controlled testimonial values to do_shortcode while filtering testimonial content and excerpts without validating or sanitizing those values. Exploitation requires no account but does require an administrator to preview or publish the crafted testimonial, and the resulting effect is limited to capabilities exposed by installed shortcodes.
