Unauthenticated uploads and erasure via missing capability checks
Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Oct 18, 2025
Improper authorization in Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress 2.3.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload safe files or erase conversations. Several unauthenticated file-upload and conversation-erasure handlers accept requests without a WordPress capability check. No account is required; uploads are restricted to file types the plugin treats as safe, while erasure removes stored conversation data.
