Stored XSS via unescaped HTTP Referer
Published Oct 25, 2025 · Updated Oct 25, 2025
Stored XSS in the Watu Quiz plugin for WordPress 3.4.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts via HTTP Referer. When Save source URL is enabled, quiz submission processing stores the attacker-controlled header and later renders it without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. No authentication is required, but the option must be enabled and a user must access a page that displays the stored source URL for the script to execute.
