Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Complianz GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent Banner 7.4.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via a shortcode. The cmplz-accept-link shortcode renders user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization or output escaping, preserving injected script markup. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload in a page, after which the script runs in the browser of anyone who visits that page.
