CVE-2025-11173Network attack vector

Reauthentication bypass via direct form submission

Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026

Authentication bypass in Wikimedia Foundation OATHAuth before 1.39.14, 1.43.4, and 1.44.1 allows remote authenticated users to skip reauthentication. OATHManage.php accepts a direct 2FA-enrollment form submission without enforcing the fresh-login check applied when the enrollment page is opened. A valid MediaWiki session and permission to enable OATHAuth are required; the bypass only removes the reauthentication step, with no reported direct data disclosure, modification, or service interruption.
