Contributor-level stored XSS via unsanitized Custom JS
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Stored XSS in WPBakery Page Builder 8.6.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the Custom JS module. The module stores user-supplied JavaScript without sufficient sanitization and renders it without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access and WPBakery editor access for the target post type are required; the script executes when an injected page is viewed.
