Authenticated command execution via unvalidated macList parameter
Published Sep 28, 2025 · Updated Sep 28, 2025
Command injection in D-Link DIR-823X 250416 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating system commands through its web interface. The /goform/set_wifi_blacklists handler passes the unvalidated macList parameter as the second argument to uci_set, allowing shell metacharacters to alter the resulting command. A valid administrative session and request token are required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands on the router.
