Authenticated command execution via insufficient port filtering
Published Sep 28, 2025 · Updated Sep 28, 2025
Command injection in D-Link DIR-823X firmware 250416 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via the port parameter. The /goform/set_switch_settings handler passes port through sub_415028 into sub_412E7C, where incomplete filtering permits shell metacharacters in a constructed command. Low-privileged web-management access is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands on the router.
