Administrator access via client-side login response tampering
Published Feb 7, 2025 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Authentication bypass in D-Link DHP-W310AV 1.04 allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access through a modified login response. The web interface accepts client-side authorization state, so changing RESULT from INVALIDPASSWD to SUCCESS and AUTHORIZED_GROUP from -1 to 0 grants an administrator session. Network access to the device's web configuration interface is required, and the published demonstration establishes administrative access rather than code execution.
