Unauthenticated file disclosure via unanchored src validation
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Path traversal in SpryMedia DataTables 1.10.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to read server files through the examples.php endpoint. The handler applies an unanchored scripts/*.php pattern to src, then appends the complete value to a server-side path passed to file_get_contents. Exploitation requires the optional examples file to be web-accessible; successful requests disclose files readable by the PHP process without changing data.
