Stored XSS via disguised SVG media upload
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Stored XSS in the SVG file handler in givanz Vvveb 1.0.7.0 through 1.0.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to run script via uploads. The media upload validator checks the filename extension but does not detect SVG content hidden behind an allowed extension, so stored active content is later rendered in the application origin. Exploitation requires high-privilege media-upload access and a victim to open the uploaded file, enabling script execution in that victim's browser session.
