CVE-2025-11010Public exploit

Local crash via include substring over-read

Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025

Heap-buffer over-read in Vsevolod Stakhov libucl 0.9.0 through 0.9.2 allows local users to crash a parsing process. The ucl_strnstr helper calls strncmp without first ensuring that the remaining bounded input is at least as long as the search string, reading beyond the heap buffer during .include handling. The path requires locally supplied UCL input that reaches include processing; the published reproducer demonstrates an instrumented-process abort, not code execution.
