CVE-2025-11000Public exploit

Information disclosure via PQS pre-buffer read

Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025

Out-of-bounds reading in the PQS parser in Open Babel 3.1.1 and earlier allows attackers to read process memory via a crafted file. The lowerit helper reads one or more bytes before its input buffer when PQSFormat::ReadMolecule parses malformed content. Exploitation requires a victim or service to process the file through obabel, OBConversion, or a language binding, exposing adjacent memory or interrupting parsing.
