Authenticated code execution via unsafe pickle deserialization
Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 25, 2025
Unsafe deserialization in SewKinect through 7fd963ceb3385af3706af02b8a128a13399dffb1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The /calculate POST handler base64-decodes the body_parts and point_cloud form fields and passes both values directly to pickle.loads without validation. Low-privileged application access is required; a crafted pickle can invoke attacker-selected system commands with the Flask server process's privileges.
