Authenticated command execution via unsanitized mac_5g input
Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 25, 2025
Command injection in Wavlink WL-NU516U1 M16U1_V240425 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The SetName handler in /cgi-bin/wireless.cgi passes the POST parameter mac_5g through sprintf and sub_405314 into system without neutralizing shell syntax. A valid session is required; crafted command substitution runs with the web-management process's device privileges and can read, alter, or interrupt appliance operations.
