Application crash via misbased phone-context slice
Published Sep 27, 2025 · Updated Sep 27, 2025
Input validation in Nyaruka phonenumbers before 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to crash a consuming application via crafted RFC 3966 input. buildNationalNumberForParsing calculates a phone-context slice end relative to a substring, then applies that offset to the original string, producing invalid slice bounds. Reachability depends on an application passing attacker-controlled phone-number text to Parse; the resulting panic interrupts that application process unless recovered.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
