CVE-2025-1094Network attack vector

SQL injection via invalidly encoded quoting input

Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 14, 2025

SQL injection in PostgreSQL before 17.3, 16.7, 15.11, 14.16, or 13.19 allows remote attackers to execute SQL via crafted input. The libpq quoting functions fail to reject or safely transform invalidly encoded bytes, allowing quote or backslash bytes to be reinterpreted when psql processes the escaped result. Exploitation requires an application to place the result into psql input, or BIG5 client encoding with an EUC_TW or MULE_INTERNAL server encoding for affected command-line utilities.
