Code execution via FF parser integer overflow
Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025
Integer overflow in GIMP 3.0.4 FF file parsing allows remote attackers to execute code when a crafted file is opened. The FF loader uses unvalidated file data in a buffer-size calculation, allowing the allocation size to wrap before memory is reserved. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a crafted FF file, after which code runs with the GIMP process's privileges.
