Unauthenticated device takeover via unbound binding identifiers
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Authorization bypass in Govee H6056 firmware 1.08.13 allows remote attackers to take control of an online light through cloud binding. The server-side API accepts device, sku, type, and client-computed value identifiers without cryptographically binding them to a device-held secret. An unauthenticated attacker needs identifiers for an online device; successful rebinding grants full device control and removes it from its owner's account.
