Local privilege escalation via unauthenticated module loading
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Missing authentication in Endurance 3.0 through 3.3.0 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges on macOS. The privileged com.MagnetismStudios.endurance.helper exposes loadModuleNamed:WithReply over NSXPC without validating the connecting client, allowing an unprivileged process to request a caller-selected module. Exploitation requires local code execution but no existing privileges or user interaction; the requested module runs in the helper's elevated context.
