CVE-2025-10905

Protection disablement via MiniFilter driver collision

Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025

Protection mechanism failure in Avast Free Antivirus before 25.9 allows local users to disable real-time protection on Windows. Gen Digital identifies a collision in the MiniFilter driver but does not disclose the conflicting operation, input, or driver path that triggers it. Administrative privileges are required, and successful exploitation also disables self-defense mechanisms, leaving the host's antivirus controls impaired.
