Authenticated service interruption via unchecked strcpy
Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Sep 23, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda AC21 Firmware 16.03.08.16 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via WifiExtraSet. The sub_45BB10 handler copies the attacker-controlled wpapsk_crypto value into the fixed-size tkip_aes stack buffer with strcpy and no bounds check. A valid management session and branch-selecting request values are required; the proof of concept demonstrates service interruption, while code execution is reported but not demonstrated.
