Authenticated database access via unsanitized category description
Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
SQL injection in SourceCodester Simple Forum Discussion System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter MySQL data. The save_category handler passes the multipart description parameter directly into an SQL query without sanitization or parameter binding, enabling time-based blind injection. Access to the authenticated category-management action is required; database reads, writes, or service interruption are bounded by the web application's database privileges.
