Code execution via previewed package symlink following
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Remote code execution in Google Web Designer before 16.2.0.0128 allows context-dependent attackers to run code via a crafted ad package. The preview feature follows symbolic links embedded in an untrusted package and accesses targets outside the extracted project directory. A user on macOS or Linux must download and open the package, then invoke Preview; successful exploitation runs code with the user's privileges.
