Authenticated router crash via unbounded tempName copy
Published Sep 20, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
Buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 840G 3.1.1-190328 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted request. The getOneApConfTempEntry handler passes the attacker-controlled tempName value to strcpy without bounding the copy into its stack buffer. Access to the management interface and valid administrator digest credentials are required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a service crash, not code execution.
