Administrator-level code execution via unchecked file upload
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in WP-DownloadManager 1.68.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on the server. The administrator-only Add File handler in download-add.php saves an uploaded file to the configured downloads directory without validating its type. Administrator access and a downloads directory writable by the web server are required; if the destination executes the uploaded file type, the code runs with the web server's privileges.
