Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Oct 25, 2025 · Updated Oct 25, 2025
Stored XSS in StudioPress Genesis Framework 3.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. Genesis shortcodes process user-supplied HTML-bearing attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload in a page, and the script runs in the browser of each user who views that page.
