Unauthorized firmware loading in Panasonic IR Control Hub 1.17 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to control the device through its UART. The circuit board exposes an active UART that provides direct device control without a protection mechanism, enabling unauthorized firmware loading. Physical access to the circuit board is required; successful exploitation permits attacker-controlled behavior through replacement firmware.
