CVE-2025-1066Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file upload via unchecked profile pictures

Published Feb 5, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in OpenPLC V3 allows remote attackers to publish attacker-controlled files through profile-picture forms. The add_user and edit_user handlers preserve the submitted extension and save the file under the public static directory without validating its MIME type or image contents. Network access without privileges or user interaction is sufficient, and the hosted content can support malvertising or phishing campaigns.
