Privilege escalation via ignored socket command restrictions
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Improper privilege management in Docker Desktop 4.46.0 allows local users to execute unrestricted Docker socket commands. The ECI configuration handoff ignores the Docker socket command allow or deny list, so requests reach the daemon without the administrator's policy. Exploitation requires ECI, an administrator-enabled socket mount exception, configured command restrictions, and code running inside an allowed container.
