Arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Corey Salzano Embed PDF for WPForms 1.1.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files to the server. The ajax_handler_download_pdf_media function accepts file content through the WordPress media-upload path without checking its type. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; executable server-side content leads to code execution when the upload location permits it.
